AES’ TPP in Galabovo provided a record amount of electricity to Bulgarian consumers in the first month of 2025. The two power units of power plant generated over 338,302 MWh of electricity, which is the plant’s largest output for the month of January for the past six years. The electricity produced by AES’ TPP in Galabovo at the start of the year covered more than 8% of Bulgaria’s total consumption for the period. In other words, every twelfth KWh of electricity used by Bulgarian consumers in January 2025 was generated with Bulgarian lignite at the country’s newest TPP.
