AES Bulgaria has conducted extensive studies to assess the technical feasibility and commercial aspects of the AES Galabovo TPP transformation projects.
A conceptual study for the transformation of the AES Galabovo TPP into an energy storage facility has been carried out and a more detailed technical study is underway to finalise the design of the future facility. The company is also preparing a test of SRF and lignite co-firing, which is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.
